                                       Important Announcements 

 FALL SPONSOR MEETING will take place IN PERSON at Wilkes University on Wednesday, October 19th in the Ballroom (usual judges room) doors will open at 5:30pm, dinner will start at 6:00pm with meeting to follow

Regional Meeting: Saturday, March 4th, 2023 

Snow Date: Saturday, March 11th, 2023

School Membership Dues ($35.00 per participating building) for the 2022 Competition Year are due December 1st, 2022.  Participants will be unable to upload projects if dues are not paid!  

Last Day to Register a Participant - Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 No NEW participants can be registered after the above date. Sponsors will be responsible for paying the registration fees ($15 per student and sponsor) for every participant registered by this date, whether or not they meet future upload deadlines.

Last Day to Submit PSTS Applications - TBD

Last Day to Upload a Project  - Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 Any participant that doesn't have a project uploaded by the above date will be removed; sponsors will still be responsible for these participant's registration fees. 

Last Day to Submit Scholarship, Internship, and Fellowship Applications - TBD

Last Day to Update an already uploaded Project - Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 There will be NO changes to projects after the above date.

 

The 2023 IN PERSON PJAS State Competition will May 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2023

TOPIC GUIDELINES

Please use the Presentation Guidelines for Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering Presentations as a guideline to determine if a presentation meets the necessary requirements by CLICKING HERE.

 

GENERAL PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

  • Equipment will be provided to all Students at the Region 2 Regional Competition.
  • Slides may contain graphics, and pictures used to enhance but not to replace the speaker.
  • Digital Presentations MUST be in PDF format.
  • Animations, music, and sound effects should not be used and will not save in this format.
  • Digital Presentations CANNOT exceed 10MGs.
  • All Digital Presentations must be uploaded to the PJAS website by the stated deadline.
  • The actual experiment may not be used in the presentation.
  • No materials may be passed to the judges during the presentation.
  • Students should bring an additional copy of their Digital Presentation on a thumb drive (to be used ONLY in cases of technical problems).

Registration

Registration for the 2023 PJAS Region 2 Competition will open December 1st, 2022!! All Sponsors, participants, or judges that need to register CLICK HERE!

 

SPONSORS

School Membership Application will be available at the Fall Sponsor Meeting as well as emailed out in October 2021.

Students will not be able to upload projects until the school membership dues are paid.

If you are new this year, please click the link above or go to pjasregistration.com to create an account. Returning sponsors should login and click on "edit profile" and check that all your information is current, including judging preferences.  Make sure to click "save". 

Once a participant has logged in, they will appear in your participants list. Once they have entered their project information (category, title, etc.) they will also appear in your projects list. For a participant to be fully registered, he/she must appear in both of your views.


      PARTICIPANTS   

If you are new this year, please click the link above or go to pjasregistration.com to create an account. When previous participants login in for the first time this year, they will be prompted to update their profile.

 

Under NO circumstances should anyone (sponsor or participant) create a second account.

If needed, contact the regional director to look up usernames. If you can’t recall your password, click where it says “Forgot Password?”, an email will be sent to your registered email that allows you to reset the password.  The regional director cannot see passwords.

 

ISEF 

This year we will be using a Google Drive Folder labeled "PJAS 2023" for ISEF forms that require approval. A link to this folder has been emailed to all sponsors.

Not all projects need approval. 

Only projects that involve human participants (this includes surveys), bacteria (BSL 1 only, unless you are working with a research institution), animals (invertebrate only unless you at a research institution or working with a vet) or potentially hazardous substances (corrosive, flammable, explosive, irritant, etc…) need approval. 

Remember that any project with human participants needs to fill out form 4 and get signatures from a medical professional, educator, and school administrator.

Upload your paperwork in PDF format into the Google Drive folder. One document per student only, not several.

Pennsylvania Science Talent Search

PSTS offers students the opportunity to receive a letter of recommendation for their college
applications from PAS (Pennsylvania Academy of Science) and to be eligible for monetary awards from PAS
